Timesplitters 2 came out my first year of college, my best friend had high ceilings, worked in the university tech lab and rented out projectors, we played 4 player multiplayer on 125 inches worth of screen. Core fucking memory.

I just recently played through this mod in its entirety for the first time, and I was _really_ surprised. The story completely caught me off guard, I wasn't expecting something closer to Soma than Doom 3 (they even mention the inspiration from Frictional Games in the credits), and the fact that they pulled off that style of story so well is about the highest praise I can give the mod, Soma is one of the best story focused games I've ever played. The gameplay is also so much better than the base game, the level design too, it feels a lot more lived in and less nonsensical. I love Doom 3, but I do still have some issues with it, and this mod fixes all of them and adds so much more to the experience that I didn't know I wanted. I do think the final boss fight could use some major work, because it's way too much, but overall it's easily in the top 3 best mods I've ever played list. Thank you for covering it, it's criminally underrated.

I absolutely loved Doon 2016 and Eternal for something new and just the power fantasy of it all. Doomslayer is just Guts from Berserk with plot power armor on now. But there is something about the darkness claustrophobia and atmosphere of Doom 3 that takes me back.

Damn some of these new gun sounds are beefy. Its like doom 2 ssg beef but for the entire weapon roster

Yeah, my biggest nitpick are the flashbacks as well. Just a tad too jarring maybe? Idk. I remember I got stuck in one for a while simply because I didn't know what I was suppose to be doing at the time. Still, this mod is pretty top tier in quality and I loved the gameplay changes.

Yeah that's the real downside of the Doom 3 modding and mod community.. The release gap between the tools to do any proper modding and the game was so large that people just dropped off.. and there wasn't anything to keep it going like Garry's mod or Counter-Strike, we're a lot of content was created or ported in the meantime.. Plus from the ground up, even before the source code was available there was tools on a more advanced level for Half-Life 2.. it's real shame, in addition to which the removal of a lot of the content that was already there when the game spy, file planet servers got shut down.. still stuff that I used to have that I can't find anymore sadly.

There will be more? huh, though it was trilogy... got stuck on the silo(?) puzzle because one set of pipes (that you have to walk through) was set too high - even spamming jump+crouch didn't help. Beside that it was smooth sail, but some encounters were nasty

Maybe the original version of Doom 3 will get a re-release for its 20th anniversary. Perhaps on this year's QuakeCon.

So, this is finally a single player premium game for people who love that cartoonish overwatch style with fast paced combat gameplay But all we know people who seriously plays games like this, not because of gameplay but because of service, multiplayer, pay to win trash side of them, like loot boxes, events, battle passes and etc...

Darkness one had edge, while companies are too afraid to be too edgy anymore. I want a remake, but would be scared of it getting sweet baby treatment, like making Jackie's girlfriend a man in dress or something equally stupid.

I remember being super excited for this game as a kid. And then being fucking baffled by the story. Its nice to know that I wasnt just dumb, the writing is psychotic

i like Killing Floor 2 fine, but.... It's not as satisfying as KF 1 :D Getting a kill or even a head slow-mo headshot, is SO satisfying on KF1 :D
